What a day!
The Club Finals day on Sunday was one of the best club days for a long time.
Thank you so much to everyone who came to take part, support, spectate, socialise, you name it! It was really wonderful to see so many people at the club with a great variety of ages, and a delicious barbecue to complement all the activities! The weather was perfect for our ‘multi-events’ day.
The Pickleball tournament was a resounding success. Report right here by David Whitworth, and many thanks to him for organising such a brilliant event.
‘The Pickleball section held its first tournament on Sunday 06 September to coincide with the tennis finals. Blessed with fine weather, there was a total of 28 entrants with ages ranging from 12 to 85. An enjoyable time was had by all with some excellent play.
The tournament final was a fiercely fought, competitive match between Tony Green & Neil Sowter vs Tim Gibbard & Heather Taylor. Tony & Neil edging in the end: 11-8, 0-11, 11-10 - it couldn’t have been closer.’
The Club Tennis finals produced some amazing matches, great rallies, close scores, and very entertaining tennis.

Also special thanks to Tim Hill for organising a wonderful junior tournament. Our younger members had some fantastic Fast Four matches with lots of invaluable experience of singles match play.
Results
Girls Winner was Darcey, Runner Up Ella, producing some excellent tennis and rallies.
Boys’ Winner of The Anstice Cup was Joey, with Alfie as Runner Up, producing a nail biting final with some of the longest rallies ever, showing amazing consistency and resilience. Third place was Theo.
It was wonderful to see so many juniors taking part, so many Picklers, so much Tennis, with Croquet matches on the side.
